Behind the lens
About April
Hi friend- I'm a photographer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. One of my true passions is capturing creative, authentic moments, freezing time, and giving people memories they'll cherish forever.
I'm truly a lover of all things creative. I love to create beautiful spaces in my home. I love to create art with watercolor, and love to create music, with my voice and my hands on the piano.
I'm obsessed with Target, and Dr. Pepper. It's scary. :)
Aside from photography, I also teach piano to 25 amazing kids. I've been teaching for 22 years.
I'm married to my best friend, Nate. We've been together for 15 years. We have three kids, Houston (he would have been 9 this year), Lottie (who is 5) and Nellie (who is 2). They are my whole world.
But something you should know is that when you work with me, you're not just getting a photographer - you're getting a friend for life. I truly believe that in order for me to tell your story, I need to be more than a person who just shows up on the day. Relationships are very important to me. I can't wait to work with you, and gain a new friend.
I have lived in Utah my whole life, and consider myself very lucky that these magnificent mountains are in my backyard!

This or That
Vibrant or Neutral?
Neutral all the way
Canon or Nikon?
I shoot with Canon. I love my mirrorless R!
Cats or dogs?
Definitely dogs. Cats couldn't care less about me.
Morning or evening?
Unfortunately a night owl. Trying to change that!
Coffee or tea?
Neither. But I do LOVE the smell of coffee.
Chocolate or vanilla?
Hot fudge with a side of vanilla please!
Nate and I are always striving to continue to build a beautiful life for us and our girls. I try to not take it all for granted. As a family, most the time you'll find us cozy together inside. That's not to say we don't love a good adventure in the outdoors. Nate and I have experienced a lot of loss in this life. The hardest loss was our first child, Houston. Stillborn. Grief takes on a different face every day, but life has taught us that it is short, and none of us are promised another day. I thank God everyday for it.
